ACTEOS SA offers real-time integrated logistics systems that were developed from CIM (computer integrated manufacturing) systems to avoid the usual interruptions in the supply chain prevalent in warehousing systems, puffer storage systems and production flows. The combination of real-time synchronisation / optimisation of logistics flows and production controlling form the basis of Acteos Supply Chain Management products.

INXIGHT SOFTWARE, Inc originally a developmental business unit within Xerox, was incorporated in the US in 1996 and is currently a leading provider of information access and content analysis software solutions and services for automating the analysis, organization and presentation of information across the Internet, intranets and extranets. The product offerings can be split into visualization and linguistic products. The company has so far focused on the US market, but in late 2000 began to expand into Europe. It has an office in London and will soon have a presence in Munich. InXight currently has over 140 customers and employs approx. 150 people.

ManageSoft provides software management products and services to the world's largest corporations in the financial services, telecommunications, and other industries.  ManageSoft transforms desktops, servers and mobile devices into self-managing smart devices that automatically adapt and self-heal in accordance with centrally defined policies. Founded in 1990, ManageSoft has offices across North and South America, Europe and Australia.

 

 

RAYSONO AG is an Interactive System Integrator. Its business model links strategic e-Business consulting, interactive design and system integration for a variety of e-business solutions for its customers, such as e-commerce, knowledge management, e-learning, etc.
Serenata Intraware AG has established itself as a leading provider for central IT solutions in the hotel industry. With the aim to transform data into knowledge, Serenata AG integrates its products with existing PMS systems seamlessly. The core element is the management information system for the hotel chains: Serenata NetHotel. By means of a central data warehouse and the use of Internet technology, data is centrally analysed and  the foundation for new markets is created.

Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, brightrivers™ SA specialises in providing the chemical, pharmaceutical and food process industries with individually tailored production design and planning solutions that help optimise their productivity and profitability. The engine of the software tool for the simulation and the optimization of the manufacturing process is based on a unique technology using non-linear genetic algorithm with fast convergence cycles and existing solutions not found via classical models ("beyond the rules of productivity"). Based on a combination of software and industrial expertise, brightrivers SA solutions have enabled world-class corporations improve their flexibility and reduce costs, while also gaining dramatic improvements in productivity.

Headquartered in Manno, near Lugano in Switzerland, Nemerix SA was founded by four individuals who were previously founders and executives of TCHIP SA. Nemerix SA is a fabless semiconductor company specialising in low power RF technology which has developed IP and is completing the development of a chipset with software for the rapidly expanding GPS market. This technology is required for mobile phones (in particular the e911 initiative), the automotive sector, transport and PDAs and the recreational market.  

 

IRM AG was founded in 1998 by former employees of Landis & Gyr where they had been developing forecasting, planning and optimization solutions for utilities already for many years. Integriertes Ressourcen Management AG (IRM) has developed a software solution to enable the whole electricity procurement and optimization process for the resellers/distributors in the electricity market. The IRM software modules contain trading (contract- and risk-management), optimization (planning and optimization) and forecasting (forecasting and scenario building). Besides the procurement solution resellers need to invest into energy data management and billing solutions.

Founded as a spin-off of the University Kaiserslautern Blue Order AG has migrated from mathematical algorithm development to become the pacemaker in the market for Rich Media Asset and Content Management Systems (RMAM) for the Media Industry. Its core technology team has been built up successfully and its reputation today is as the high-tech company for innovative software solutions in the industry. RMAM systems are enabling rich media (audio, video, print and pictures) content producers and owners to operate and manage the whole planning, production and utilization process of rich media efficiently. The RMAM system is integrated on top of the utilized hardware and does connect to plenty of individual applications used in the specific environment (e.g. scheduling tools or indexing tools).     

 

CoreOptics Inc. is a privately held US-German company developing and manufacturing Advanced Transponder Subsystems for the next generation telecommunications systems in the DWDM, SONET/SDH, ATM and IP area. Through its world-class R&D operation based in Nuremberg, Germany CoreOptics is developing ultra high-speed optical networking solutions and will provide system manufacturers differentiating solutions for their next generation systems.      

 

Beam Express Inc. develops, manufactures and markets next generation optoelectronic components based on its unique 1550nm VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) technology, targeted at meeting the high performance and low-cost expected by the manufacturers of metro access telecommunication systems.

The investment has been exited in August 2006, Trade sale to NeoPhotonics in CA, USA.

 

Xignal Technologies AG (Unterhaching, Germany) is a world leader in the development of high performance analog and mixed signal solutions for Systems-on-Chip integration. Allowing for cost-effective, mixed-signal designs in Silicon that rival the performance of exotic materials such as Gallium Arsenide or Silicon Germanium, the company's Intellectual Property (IP)-Platform is optimized for easy design integration. Xignal's technology solutions are expected to play an important role in the next-generation System-on-Chip (SOC) designs solutions, especially for the wireline communications market.

Locanis AG a specialist for intelligent warehouse management systems. Its solutions focus on pallet identification, localisation and tracking, as well as the optimisation of logistical routing and navigation for closed warehouses and external storage areas. Locanis' primary product "G-Track" is a unique patented solution for automised tracking of products and pallets in warehouses and external storage areas with extreme positioning accuracy, without requiring capital intensive infrastructure such as induction paths. The system also provides warehouse management data for identifying fork lift vehicles and their exact positioning, as well as vehicle drive time and velocity and the complete detailed analysis of warehouse content. Locanis offers turn-key implementation of the required hardware and software systems, which can be implemented in most existing warehouse structures. The intelligent vehicle tracking and routing lead to significantly reduced warehousing costs and increased efficiency. Locanis customers were able to significantly reduce the number of fork lift vehicles and personnel in their warehouses.
